You would be well advised to keep a day or two aside only dedicated to shopping. Goa has numerous flea markets held on different days in different parts of the state, that sell a lot of touristy stuff and interesting souvenirs to take back home.
 

Practice your bargaining skills (or take a trusted local along), make sure you have enough loose cash and head out for a shopping spree! Some of the items that you should look at are:

 Panaji City. Also, try going to the industries for wholesale prices. The Royal Kajuwala in Panaji, Ajanta Industries in Ponda, Saima Agro Industry in Usgaoand Zantyes Cashew Nuts in Panaji are some places that you could look at. The Goan cashews are the most fresh and sought after ones!


Feni

Feni is one of the most famous things to buy in Goa! Also Known as Fenny, it is a popular country liquor of Goa (hence not sold outside Goa) and has come to identified as an inseparable part of Goa Tourism over the years. Feni can be made with both coconut and cashew but Goan feni is essentially fermented cashew juice and so is sometimes called caju feni. It is highly intoxicating and is used in cocktails and mixed with cola, tonic water and lemonade. It is easily available at INR 100 at any liquor shop. Plus, it has a long shelf life! Get a bottle of Feni for the next party you host at home and let everyone enjoy a sip of this Goan spirit.

Your trip to Goa isn't complete if you don't buy some handicrafts here. The place is also known for its quality silk, gorgeous carpets, papier-mache work, bronze work amongst other things. And, the best place to shop for these would be at the beach markets. You will find many interesting trinkets and creative artwork of the locals which make great keepsakes. Make sure you negotiate well; these tourist markets usually charge exorbitant rates from the unwary. Also, keep away from touts who may try to coax you into buy low quality products!

So, how about you bag a few Goan Trance CDs and Portuguese music while in town? These are easily available at the beach markets. You could also glance through the numerous shops that sell varieties of musical instruments, both local and standard fares.
