Nightlife In Goa

OK since iv covered most of the major beaches in Goa, my next few articles are gonna focus on the real reason Goa is visited by hordes every year. Yes and that is "parties"...

Being one of India's favourite holiday destinations, the nightlife in Goa thrives at all times of the year. While the period around Christmas and New Year is undoubtedly peak tourist season, there’s enough going on even through the rest of the year. From music festivals and visiting DJs playing at local clubs, to a thriving live music scene and snazzy new hotspots for the after hours? Goa has an unbeatable ambiance and an unrivalled energy. Although you can enjoy a night out by just wandering into one of the beach-side shacks, we pinpoint the hottest spots where you can party till the wee hours of the morning.
A new trend starting in Goa and all over India as well is Silent Noise Parties In Goa's silent headphone parties, everyone literally dances to their own tunes. Clubbers can choose their music, performed live by Silent Noise's three international DJs. This is transmitted directly to their wireless headphones, allowing the party to circumvent noise pollution laws and continue until the wee hours of the morning. The setting for the outdoor party is Neptune's Point, a grass field flanked by rocks that offers stunning views of Palolem beach. Circus performers, laser shows and comfortable tepees complete the festive experience.

A relatively new concept starting in Goa is Silent Noise Parties. In such parties every guest is given a pair of headphones with multiple channels each corresponding to a different DJ. So based on the genre you like you can shift onto that channel and sit back and enjoy the party. The Concept

Silent Noise was conceived in the beachside town of Palolem, south Goa and the place has undoubtedly left its mark on the parties. The parties are as much a product of the visitors, the citizens and the location as they are of the organisers; many of who call the idyllic beach town home. South Goa is very different from the north. It is much more peaceful, with a nice mixture of nationalities, ages and traveller types. The diversity makes almost everybody fall in love with the place. This atmosphere has rubbed off on the parties, which end up with a laid back festival air.
Just as the parties have affected Palolem, so too has the town been affected with the parties. The parties have been designed to be as inclusive as possible, with many of the local people getting involved, so that all can benefit. What’s more, people have started coming from all over Goa to sample the parties. Thus Silent Noise thrives because of the location and the location because of Silent Noise. The dream is to help all of Goa in this way by having parties while not breaking the law; that dream isn’t that far away.

Silent Noise is one of the major organisers for these parties  in Goa. The Silent Noise is in its sixth season of organising headphone parties and this is its first time without Janie’s beau, Justin Mason, who started it in this fenced-in corner of Palolem beach, where the hills dissolve into the sea. Neptune Point can host 1,000 people. At Alpha Bar in Palolem, a few minutes from Neptune Point, they have another version of the headphone party on Tuesdays. This is in a smaller space, where the crowd grooves to two channels of music. They come from all parts of the country, even abroad, to dance in these parties.
Silent Noise has organised headphone parties in Bangalore, Mumbai and other cities. But Goa has been the centre of this phenomenon. When they began, headphone parties in south Goa were a response to the state BJP government’s clampdown on regular music parties. The police had started cracking down on rave parties to control drugs in this beach city, which has always attracted all shades of hippies. Besides, there was noise pollution. Headphone parties were a way of letting party animals get their fix while staying on the right side of the law. Hundreds danced to music transmitted via headphones. Only the colour of the channel showed who was listening to what—house or electronic beats. Though everyone danced to their own music, in the sea of reds and greens and blues, you found your little group and matched steps, or shared drinks, or struck conversation.

In the evening Palolem Beach turns into a real spectacle of lights and colors. Evening and night activities are generally held on the south side of the beach.
Palolem Beach is well known with its famous "silent" discos, which are held directly on the beach or in some bars. Relaxing vibrations, the view of night beach and dancing people make parties in Palolem Beach resort really much amazing and very specific. All visitors of such unique discos and dancing parties are getting headphones: they can select a radio channel, listen to their favorite music and dance. The entrance to such party costs about 400 rupees.

Silent discos on the sand - Silent Noise - are held every Saturday from 9 pm till 4 am in the southernmost part of the beach, in a place called Neptun Point. In "Alpha Bar" from Friday to Sunday you can visit fantastical Headphone Party. There are couples of places which can offer tourists some of other types of parties. You can learn more about them while talking to people or from reading or looking through commercial suggestions and leaflets.

Every evening a real live-music can be found in some bars and restaurants of Palolem Beach resort: reggae, dance, rock, Indian and classical. You can spend a very nice and cool evening sitting in Cuba Bar on a main street or in Sameer Restaurant where you will have a chance to taste amazingly delicious dishes. Café del Mar is opened around the clock.
Often on a nearby Butterfly Beach, which is situated 2 miles north from Palolem Beach resort, real trance parties are conducted: huge and small bonfires are lighting up there and people are dancing all night long till the sun rises up. If you are interested to visit such a party and want to find out when and where it will take place, you’ve better ask local citizens.
